Spot Cleaning Guide

Cleaning Agents for Spot Removal:

Detergent Solution:
Mix one teaspoon of clear dish washing liquid or detergent powder ‘containing no bleaches or strong alkalies’ with one cup of warm, not hot, water. This solution must be well rinsed with clear water.
Vinegar Solution:
Mix 1/3 cup of white vinegar to 2/3 cup of water.
Soda Water:
Use straight to remove wine stains.
Ammonia Solution:
Mix ½ cup of water with one tablespoon of clear, household ammonia solution. After application, this solution must be neutralised with vinegar solution.
Solvent:
Use a dry-cleaning solvent available at grocery, drug and hardware stores, such as Carbona Energine, or KCR (1.11 tri-clorothane chemical base is preferred).
