Wood Furniture
The Beauty is in the variation
- Nature signs every tree with its own fingerprint. It reflects the region and terrain where each tree grows and the weather each tree experiences during its many growth cycles. These influences are seen in the grain and pattern of each piece of wood.
- In some cases, certain trees have characteristics that are unique to the species.
- Take cherry trees for example. Cherry solids and veneers have small indentations, known as “gum pockets”, which are inherent in the wood and testify to its quality and authenticity.
- As you look at wood furniture, remember that the beauty of a natural product is its one-of-a-kind character. So, enjoy it for its beauty. Enjoy it for its nature.
Caring for your furniture:
- Jordans is proud of its products and we want you to enjoy them for years to come. Proper care will assure its beauty will remain for generations. Follow these simple steps to bring out and maintain your furniture’s beauty.
- Do not expose wooden furniture strong sunlight and moisture. Long exposure to sunlight may cause changes to the wood and thus affect the colour of the finish. Moisture may damage the wood and its finish. Wipe up spills immediately and do not position humidifiers near your furniture.
- Prolonged heat can dry wood and cause it to crack and split. Make sure furniture is positioned at least six inches from heating ducts and radiators.
- For cleaning wood, we recommend you use a 100 percent cotton cloth to minimize surface scratches often associated with synthetic fibers. Use only a cloth for dusting and a furniture polish that provides the lustre you desire.
- Avoid placing plastic and rubber materials directly on wooden furniture. They may cause a reaction with the finish on your furniture and leave marks and stains.
- Use felt pads under decorative items such as lamps and candlesticks to prevent scratches. Table pads, cloth placemats and coasters should be used during meals and snacks.
- On metal accent furniture, vacuum metal work frequently and wipe with a soft cloth lightly moistened with water. Chemical cleaners may damage our unique metal finishes.
- For stone or fossil-stone furniture, clean with only a soft cloth lightly moistened with water. Chemical cleaners may discolour and damage the stone surface.
- To protect your investment Jordans highly recommends the Excelsior Wood Care Kit for all fine wood furniture.
